Say Goodbye to 2018

Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. 20 The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. 21 This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise. Isaiah 43:18-21 NKJV

When the year 2018 ends, the New Year (2019) begins. Every new beginning is preceded by an ending, and you can’t receive the new reality of a new beginning, in all of its fullness, if you’re still holding on to the old. So, do yourself a favor and say “goodbye to 2018”—don’t look back. Look forward to a new beginning and expect God’s very best!

Many are, perhaps, thinking that they need to make a New Year resolution because they want something to change in their life and circumstances. There is nothing magical about making a new year’s resolution, only to be broken or soon forgotten. Forget about making a resolution and instead make a decision—a quality decision to take God at his Word and believe that the past is pasted but now faith is and without “now” faith”, it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:1, 6). The past is your mortality; the present is your reality; and, the future is your destiny. Every New Year moves you closer to the fulfillment of your God-ordained destiny.

So, as outlined in the text above, where God speaks through the Prophet Isaiah to admonish His people not to live by looking in the “rearview mirror” nor limiting their life to an old way of thinking and believing. God wants to do a new thing in your life, so say goodbye to 2018.

In the New Year, God wants to give you such an abundant miraculous supply of water (blessings) notwithstanding the “dry desert” conditions you may have faced in 2018. Poetically and by analogy, God’s supply will be so abundant in this new season (2019), even the wild beasts, the jackals and the ostriches shall be impacted by the blessings, and they shall break forth into thanksgiving and praise to God for the beyond-measure outpouring of blessings that shall benefit the people of God passing through the wilderness and deserts of 2018. So, go ahead and say goodbye to 2018!
