Fullness of Joy
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 NKJV
Joy is the feeling that accompanies the expectation, acquisition, and possession of the things you desire. When you understand the Word of God that you’ve heard and read, you will not use it as a club to beat up and punish yourself, or others. You’ll begin to live your life, i.e., eat, drink, share and celebrate because the Gospel is good news about what is so now (Neh. 8:10).
God shows us—now—the path of life (the key to life). We live in His presence now, and in His presence is joy—fullness of it—and many pleasures that joy brings. This experience occurs, not only in an after-death future, but now. God is a right now-God who has heard us, delivered us, and has met every need (Isa. 49:8; 2 Cor. 6:2; Heb. 11:1). In fact, Jesus associated joy with “being there” in paradise now (Heb. 12:2; Luke 23:42-43).
Stop waiting for your day to arrive, for your ship to come in, or for some prophecy to be fulfilled. This is the day! (Ps. 118:23-24). The Lord is doing that which is wonderful, marvelous, and awesome. Awesome things are happening for those who have fullness of joy. Joy and gladness of heart says: you believe it is done, completed, finished—it is marvelous in your eyes. Feel the joy now!
